organic elegancE

Organic Elegance began as a typical developer-grade apartment in Sliema: glossy finishes, three undersized bedrooms, and bathrooms that prioritised quantity over proportion. The brief was clear — reduce density, increase scale, and elevate material quality to create a high-performing short-let with architectural presence.

The layout was reworked from three bedrooms to two substantial suites, each with generous ensuites. The shift immediately changed the hierarchy of the space, favouring privacy and comfort over maximum occupancy.

A light herringbone wood-effect floor runs throughout, including into the bathrooms, creating visual continuity. The palette is controlled: white, light timber tones, and restrained sage accents.

In the master suite, white onyx tiles pair with beige zellige. Calacatta Oro ceramic is used consistently across countertops, drop-mounted basins, and a custom vanity positioned on the traditional Maltese balcony accessed through the bathroom. A freestanding bathtub, walk-in wardrobe, and double shower enclosed in custom tinted glass with brass fixtures complete the space.

The second bathroom takes a more immersive approach, with walls and ceilings clad in deep forest green bejmat tiles, anchored by a single oversized Moroccan wall lamp.

The open-plan kitchen addresses a long, narrow footprint through three distinct elements: a low cabinetry run with wine fridge, a central island with integrated hob and curved dining extension, and a tall storage wall that transitions into bar seating or workspace. All surfaces are unified in Calacatta Oro.

Slatted wall panelling wraps the corridor and living area, concealing a bedroom door within its rhythm. A glossy black powder room provides deliberate contrast.

The result is a clear architectural reconfiguration — measured, material-led, and strategically positioned within the market.
